Who We Are

OUR STORY

Summit Leadership Foundation was born out of a passion for connecting the right people and the right resources. Dave McAuley founded Summit in 2004 after reading the book Halftime and realizing that if he was ever going to act on that passion, now was the time. From humble beginnings at his dining room table to our current 40,000 square foot facility, Summit’s mission has never wavered:

serving communities around the world with the love of Jesus Christ by creating relational hubs for connecting, consulting, coaching, and caring

Today, we are blessed to serve over 150 non-profits, ministries, and churches.

OUR NAME

Based on a biblical example of leadership, Summit’s name is inspired by the story of Moses. In Exodus 17, Moses led the children of Israel through the wilderness from Egypt, before being attacked by Amalek and his army. It was at this time that Moses was called to do something bigger than himself. Standing on the summit of the hill, Moses raised the staff of God high above his head. As long as he held the staff up, Israel would prevail in battle, but if it was lowered, Amalek would win.

As the battle wore on however Moses’ strength weakened and the battle became more challenging. It was at that point that Aaron and Hur came alongside Moses to help him. Together they were able to accomplish the plan that God had for Moses and the children of Israel prevailed. At Summit we aim to be like Aaron and Hur, to come alongside leaders and lift them up so that they may accomplish what God has called them to do.
