“The best preparation for good work tomorrow is good work today.” ~ Elbert Hubbard

“God is Good”…(response =)…“All the Time.”  Not only is God good, everything He does is good, quite simply because He is God.  Even the things that seem “bad” are “good” when placed in God’s hands.  God’s work is good.  If you read the first chapter of Genesis, at the end of each creation day, God looked at what He had done and said: “It is good”.  At the end of the sixth day, He said: “It is very good.”  On the seventh day, he said it was “holy”.  Holy is as good as you can get.  Not only is God’s work good, but the work He does through us is good as well.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10 NASB)

You are like a specially designed tool in the hand of God.  You are His masterpiece and He uses you to accomplish His work, which is “good”…very good.  Think of this: He not only made you to do his work, but He actually prepared the work He had for you to do before He brought you into the world.  Wow!

Anything God does through you is “good” because He did it.  Now let me ask you a question:  “Are you prayerfully aware of how God wants to work through you to do His good work?”

“In Christ Jesus” is a powerful phrase.  We are not even close to being good enough to serve God or to be used by Him.  He is holy, we are unholy.  But, “In Christ Jesus”, we are made holy and good because of our identity in Him.  Can I hear an “Amen!”?

As Christian leaders, we need to take time to pause and reflect on the goodness of God as well as the good work He intends to do through us.  You are not in your position of leadership by accident.  You are where you are and who you are by God’s design.  You are His “masterpiece” properly positioned and prepared to do His good work.

This is an issue of stewardship.  Are you going to be a good steward of all that God has given you, including your time, talent, treasure? He has also given you a position of leadership in which He intends to use you to positively influence the lives of others.  With blessing comes responsibility.

Let me encourage you today to prayerfully consider all that God has blessed you with and consciously yield your life and leadership to His good plan for you.  God is good…all the time.  Trust Him to do His good work through you.
